The Designers - Kenny & Shar-linn

Two Perspectives. One Language.

Kavant & Sharart was born from a shared passion for jewelry, but shaped by two very different perspectives.

Kenny leads the creative design of Kavant & Sharart. Coming from a family with a fine jewelry business and a lineage of jewelers, jewelry was part of his world from an early age. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he met Shar-Linn, he went on to study at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), deepening his knowledge of gemstones and the craft of jewelry.

With an engineering background and a natural fascination with structure, proportion and movement, Kenny approaches each design by asking how an idea can be brought to life — and how it can be made unexpected, functional and beautifully resolved.

Shar-Linn brings a different but equally important perspective to the brand. With a background in finance, she came to jewelry through her growing appreciation for design and its place in a woman's everyday life. Today, she leads merchandising and contributes to product development and collection expansion, constantly considering how a piece will be worn, styled and experienced by the modern woman.

Her role is to challenge the design from the perspective of the wearer: Is it comfortable? Is it versatile? Can she wear it from day to evening? Does it work with the jewelry she already owns? And, importantly, is there an opportunity to take an idea further?

Married in 2011, Kenny and Shar-Linn continue to build Kavant & Sharart together — Kenny shaping the design language, Shar-Linn shaping how that language becomes part of a woman's life.

Based between Bangkok and Singapore, their shared journey continues to evolve through travel, art, architecture and the cultures of Asia.

One creates the idea. The other asks how it will live. Together, they create Kavant & Sharart.

Their differences remain at the heart of their work.
